“I have been a stranger here in my own land, all my life.” Back in 2016 I made this film inspired by the life of artist/performer Rak Salt. It’s an intimate portrait that touches upon the many distorted narratives that shaped his life. Narratives that have shaped the communities and lives of many other African Americans. However, the film also highlights the power of his spirit, his resilience and resistance. Commissioned by Onassis foundation for the Antigone Now! festival in New York, in 2016.
